Frequently Asked Questions

Is SIM the same as SIM NY Metro?

SIM members each belong to a independently managed local chapter.  SIM NY Metro members managed their profiles and renewals on this platform, while also having access to SIM National benefits.

Can I participant in another chapter's activities?

SIM NY allows SIM members from any chapter to participate in our events.  If you are a SIM member visiting New York City, you may sign up for one of our events

Who is qualified to join?

Our community consists of senior executives who play a significant role in the development, purchasing, or adoption of technology. SIM New York Metro welcomes senior professionals, board members, investors, academics, consultants, and other leaders in technology and business. Members usually have job titles of director, vice president, or above.

Can I join if I work for a technology vendor?

Technology vendors are a critical part of our community! If you are in a qualified role, as described above, you are welcome to join as a member.

However, we hope that you also see the value in your company supporting us as a sponsor!

One exception is if your reason to join our community, regardless of your role or job title, is to gain access to our community so that you can sell products or services to our members. If this is your motivation for joining our community, we will warmly welcome you as a sponsor.
